Keywords for moving companies, pulled from real search data
These are the keywords for moving companies that actual households type, sorted by how much demand sits behind each wording and by what the person typing is really trying to do. Use them to decide which pages, ads and Maps categories your board needs next.
How to read this list of keywords for moving companies
The pull behind this page holds 632 distinct searches built from four seeds: moving company, long distance movers, local movers and packing services. Volume here means a band, never a promise. A big phrase does not mean calls will arrive, and a small one can fill a Tuesday for a company that answers it well.
Everything below is printed lower case, exactly as it sits in the data. Where the data holds the same search in six word orders, we show the one a human would say aloud. The tables group keywords for moving companies by the job a household has in mind, because one ad group and one landing page should answer one job.
Our moving company SEO page explains how the town and move-type pages get built, and Google Ads covers how the paid side uses the same list.

Word-order twins and what to do about them
The head of this list is mostly one search typed in many shuffled orders: moving moving company, mover moving company, company moving companies. Google treats them as one intent, so a single page and a single ad group cover them all. Writing a page for each shuffle would only produce copies of yourself.
Where the order matters is the place name. A town and a state abbreviation, in the form shown in the town table, is how a household asks about one place, and each town on your route sheet deserves its own page for that reason. Our local SEO page covers the Maps side of the same idea.

Searches this page does not print, and why
Three kinds of search are large in the data and are left out of the tables on purpose. Searches about price, cost and tips are real, and the owner decides whether and how to answer them. Searches about paperwork and credentials belong to the owner too, in the owner's words. And a long tail of searches names specific companies, franchises and truck-rental brands; those people are asking for somebody else by name, so we neither print nor bid on them.
Phrases that rank firms against each other are real as well. They are about how a household feels, not about a service you can sell, so we leave them to the review pages and the replies under them. Our review management page deals with that side.
Where the household stands, and what the campaign does about it
| Point in the move | Giveaway wording | Move on the ad account |
|---|---|---|
| Daydreaming, no date yet | moving company help | Keep it as a low-cost test, and send the visit to a page that explains the options |
| Weighing three outfits | local moving company, moving company quotes | Bid, and put the quote form above the fold |
| Hunting for one type of job | piano moving company near me, mobile home moving company | Build a separate ad group and a separate landing page for each |
| Wants storage in the plan | moving company and storage | Send the click to the storage page, not the home page |
| Far-off destination | cross country moving company | Give it its own budget so local jobs do not eat it |
| Wants a drive-it-yourself truck | moving company rental trucks | Add the phrase to the negative list the day it appears |
From keyword list to calendar
A list like this is a starting board, not a plan. The work is to pick the handful of phrases your crews can actually serve this quarter, give each its own page, and watch which ones bring quote requests rather than clicks. Capacity matters: a keyword that fills a week you cannot staff is a problem you paid for.
The posted plans on our pricing page show how many new pages each tier adds every month, which is the shortest route from this list into a site. When you want the list narrowed to your towns and your move types, ask us to narrow the list and we will do it with you.
Questions movers ask about keywords for moving companies
How many keywords for moving companies does one site need?
Far fewer than the pull holds. Start with one phrase for each town and move type your crews can take, and add more only when a page earns quote requests.
Should a one-truck mover chase the biggest phrase on the list?
Rarely. The biggest phrases are crowded and mostly shoppers. A small company does better with a town page and a specialty page, where the wording is narrower and the person typing is closer to phoning.
Do near-me searches need a page that says near me?
No. A household typing near me gets results from the Maps listing and from pages that name the place. Your job is a listing and town pages that make the match obvious.
Why is storage on a movers keyword list at all?
Because households ask for it in the same search. A storage add-on page lets you catch the person who types moving company with storage without sending them away from the quote form.
How often should a mover's keyword list be refreshed?
Look again when the route sheet changes, when a new service joins the board, or when a campaign report shows a search term you did not plan for. In between, leave it alone.
Which weeks on your board still have trucks sitting at the curb?
Tell us the towns you want more of, whether the money is in local jobs or long hauls, and how the calendar looks from here to the end of the month. You get one monthly price and a straight read on where the quote requests could come from.
The dolly, the boxes and the cargo bay are drawings. None of them shows a real move or a real crew, and none predicts a single booking.
